In Nigeria, a significant percentage of the population is diagnosed with either typhoid fever or malaria. Well for your information, there is a malaria vaccine.
The R21/Matrix-M vaccine has been approved in Nigeria and Ghana.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends the R21 vaccine as a way to prevent malaria in children.
The WHO also recommends the RTS,S/AS01 vaccine, which was recommended in 2021. Both vaccines are considered safe and effective in preventing malaria in children.
The CDC recommends that travelers going to Nigeria take prescription medicine to prevent malaria.
Nigeria has the largest burden of malaria in the world, with children under five most severely affected. The country’s toll makes up nearly a third of the world’s 619,000 malaria deaths each year.3 Comments
