Born Rudolph Arnett Clay on July 18, 1943, Rahaman was 18 months younger than his brother Muhammad. He and Muhammad grew up together in Louisville, Kentucky, and shared many experiences, including training, traveling, and fighting.

▪Boxing career
Rahaman was a professional boxer who won 14 fights, lost 3, and had 1 draw. He retired in 1972.

▪Role as Muhammad Ali”s bodyguard
Rahaman was Muhammad”s chief sparring partner and personal bodyguard. He was also a confidante and part of Muhammad”s inner circle.

Rahaman wrote two books about his brother: That”s Muhammad Ali”s Brother! My Life on the Undercard in 2014 and My Brother, Muhammad Ali – The Definitive Biography in 2019.
