The Olomoro Igbide community road project has been a long-awaited development for the people of Olomoro, and its approval by Delta State Governor RT Hon Sheriff Francis Oborewhori before the end of the second quarter of 2024 was a significant milestone. The project’s commencement, with considerable work done so far, is a welcome progress. However, concerns have been raised about the contractor’s adherence to the original scope of work and specifications outlined in the Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
Specifically, the road’s width has been reduced to 6.5 meters, which is narrower than the existing road and not in conformity with the original BOQ specifications. This has sparked worries that the contractor might be deviating from the agreed-upon standards. To address this issue, it is essential that the contractor provides the community president, Mr. Ejoor Ekenekuwhe Eweh, with a copy of the road BOQ. This will enable him to monitor and track the project’s progress effectively, ensuring that it meets the required specifications and standards.
The people of Olomoro and Governor Oborewhori expect all projects, including the Olomoro Igbide community road, to be executed according to the contract award and BOQ specifications. It is crucial that the contractor adheres to these standards to deliver a project that meets the community’s needs and expectations
