This is the Pau tree in Brazil, a tree that grows in the American Atlantic forests in the south.
The characteristic reddish color of Brazil Pau comes from iron oxide particles, which mines and turns it into incorruptible wood, which is why it has been the target of all armies and sailors in the area for their ships damaged by the joke (Teredinidae, sea worm). That’s how they practically led it to extinction.
It is one of the hardest and densest woods in the world (there are two that surpass it) and has a single color when cut that approaches fuchsia, but as it oxidizes, it turns into a dark brown over time.
