Engr Roberta Edu is definitely an inspiration for every young Nigerian woman.

She got on the Mandela Washington Fellowship and has made the most of this beautiful experience.

If you are not yet following her on Facebook, you are definitely missing out on a lot of positive mindset defining nuggets.

    Just see this nugget below.

I know sometimes when motivational speakers, who do not speak from life’s experiences speak, they speak out of the need to speak, it’s a career for them, and that is why it looks funny, but when someone is pouring from experience, it can be the spark that you need, so today, I’ll pour from my experience, and I am here to tell you… that there is no challenge in life that God didn’t design for your gain.

When I say this to you, I am saying it from a place of numerous and countless circumstances, from when I was a kid, leaving my Mom at an early age to live with my sister, I kept asking God why me, I like it down there, my friends, my church community, everything wasn’t same, but God knew what he had for me, the early detachment from my mom made me learned independence, and prepared me for Lagos, but today isn’t for this story, it’s for another.

When I came to the US, my plan wasn’t to make videos and documentary of the entire program, I had other plans, I wanted to be the quite, matured and the focused person in the room. But along the line, the first few days we resume school at Purdue University. One guy said he was going to be taking photos, videos etc. And there was an app we were given to share photos and videos made so everyone can pick theirs from the collection.

Day 1, Day 2, I scan through the entire photo circle at night to see my photos, my people I didn’t see any photos of me, there was even a photo that 3 of us sitting infront we pose for the photo, the guy snapped us when I checked I can swear with my life that he cropped me out, I mean I am a photographer don’t forget? I went outside the next day, asked the guy jokingly why I can’t find my photos, he laughed, and said I shouldn’t worry, I don’t want to take you through the struggle of being Nigerian mehnn… the 3rd day and it continued that way, I wanted to be angry, cos every damned person was there except me, but I told myself common now..

You’re gonna cry cos some guy didn’t snap your photo, with a Samsung S23 Ultra in your hands? Pick up that phone now! And look at the brighter side. So I decided to forgive this boy, when I say forgive, I mean without him offering any apology, and without holding anything against him.

And on the 4th day, I went to class with a tripod I brought from Nigeria, a very tiny yet effective little thing, place that infront of class and begin to make content, from photos to videos, snapshot etc.

When the videos became too much, I started uploading online, that is exactly how all the videos I had uploaded, that you all enjoyed started, it wasn’t in the plan when i moved here, but by making content, I unlocked a part of me I didn’t plan to unlock in the US, I became more free, more engaging and these very acts lead to so many opportunities, that i was able to unlock.

Do you know my own photos and videos became so good, everyone started begging me to snap them, even my documentaries and videos became popular that they started rejoicing anytime I featured any of them in my videos. You’ll hear oh come see Roberta featured you on her reel, shes a celebrity with many views. 🤣🤣🤣 the guy who refused to snap me had to go order Samsung S22, then was dancing that he got my same phone, I had to set the record straight, bro try harder I use S23 Ultra, infact I am upgrading to the latest at Samsung store tomorrow. 🙈🙈🙈🙈

Yesterday, one of our lecturers said I should send them my contents that they recently started following me and oh mine… I know a thing about content creation, it’s rich and engaging, it’s the best content he’s seen from anyone in the program.

So you see, if I didn’t look at the bright side of the challenge I faced with that guy, I could have started hating on him, creating a scene or maybe just spoiling my mind, these would have denied me the opportunities I got, would have Made my impact from the program lesser and would also have denied you all, the beautiful experience I have shared with you.

So, I am asking you today, what challenge are you facing? What is God using to steer your life fortune that you’re calling a challenge? Look at the bright side, God is talking to you, yes you!!!
