Modelling is predictive because of data analysis. And its the oldest practice that shaped the world. Its no longer rocket science to know how the automobile will be in say 10 years time. Car manufacturers know already.

Anyway reverse back to like 200 years back. It has always been where we are, what we want, how these can help in making life easier and the tools we require to achieve that.
